News & Notes

Bernina Omaha graciously opened its doors to Christ Child Omaha to host these sewing events as we work toward meeting the goal of creating over 2,200 blankets in 2026.

Christ Child Society of Omaha Auxiliaries are welcoming groups of women who turn compassion into action. With more than 140 members across five auxiliaries, volunteers support local children and families through hands-on programs like newborn layettes, literacy initiatives, car seat distributions, and parent scholarships.

During Catholic Schools Week, the community at Mary Our Queen Catholic School truly lived out its mission of service by collecting an incredible 27,000+ diapers for CCSO. This remarkable effort will directly support mothers and babies in need throughout the Omaha community.

We are happy to announce Sarah Macdissi, Raye Nord, Kristin Pratt and Quinn Siner as our newest Board members. They each bring to us their unique experiences to serve and provide value enhance Christ Child Society of Omaha.

Founded in 1906, Christ Child Society of Omaha began with a simple but powerful act of service. Inspired by meeting national founder Mary Virginia Merrick, Stella (Hamilton) Stapleton established the Omaha chapter as an outgrowth of the Catholic Sewing Mission School at Sacred Heart Academy (now Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart). What began with volunteers sewing layettes for newborns soon grew into something much larger.
