Scholarships

Our Scholarship Program provides financial assistance for parents working toward college degrees or professional certifications. Helping single parents achieve their academic goals helps put their families on a path toward independence and success.

Who Can Apply?

Scholarships are available to single parents in the Omaha, Nebraska, area who face significant financial need. Scholarship funds can be used to pursue an undergraduate degree or certificate training. 

What Scholarships Are Available?

Scholarships for single parents are awarded annually and are based on program type and length. Scholarships are renewable annually until program completion for awardees in good academic standing. 

  • $6,000 for applicants pursuing four-year undergraduate degrees. These awards are renewable annually up to three times.
  • $3,000 for applicants pursuing one and two-year undergraduate degrees. These awards are renewable one time for two-year programs.
  • $1,000 for applicants pursuing certificate academic programs. This award is a one-time grant, payable upon successful completion of a certificate program.

How Many Scholarships Are Awarded Each Year?

The number of scholarship recipients changes each year. In 2025, more than 60 parents received scholarships from Christ Child Society of Omaha. 

What Schools Do Scholarship Recipients Attend?

Our scholarship recipients have attended a variety of schools in the Omaha Metro area, including University of Nebraska — Omaha (UNO), College of St. Mary, Nebraska Methodist College, and Bellevue University.

Impact

Scholarships for low-income parents are a steppingstone for breaking the cycle of generational poverty. In 2025, CCSO awarded more than $275,000 in scholarships to more than 60 parents to build stronger futures for their families. More than $1 million in scholarships have been awarded since the program began in 2015.
