Literacy Program Overview

Our Literacy Program provides families in need digital and print books free of charge. Early childhood literacy support helps young minds read, learn, and grow, while health literacy resources for adults help them care for themselves and their families.

What Kinds of Books Does CCSO Offer?

In general, CCSO provides four types of books:

  • Unite for Literacy picture books for newborns and children up to age 3
  • Digital books narrated in 50+ languages
  • Physical books in English and Spanish
  • Health literacy materials for adults

How Do I Access the Books?

Adults and children can access free books in the following ways:

Impact

Giving children reading opportunities at a young age helps them develop literacy, vocabulary, imagination, and concentration skills. Reading also builds school readiness, leading to long-term academic success.

For adults, health literacy resources help them properly care for themselves and their children and, for those new to the United States, adapt to a new culture.
