Christ Child Society of Omaha: A Legacy of Compassion in Action

Christ Child Society of Omaha Celebrates 120 Years

Founded in 1906, Christ Child Society of Omaha began with a simple but powerful act of service. Inspired by meeting national founder Mary Virginia Merrick, Stella (Hamilton) Stapleton established the Omaha chapter as an outgrowth of the Catholic Sewing Mission School at Sacred Heart Academy (now Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart). What began with volunteers sewing layettes for newborns soon grew into something much larger.
